E-Textbooks

The Library partners with ECU Dowdy Student Stores to bring you classroom texts in an electronic format. These texts are purchased by the Library so everyone can use them when they want online – they cost the Library money, but they are free for students. Some of these e-textbooks have printing or downloading limits. Most of them are also stocked by the ECU Dowdy Student Stores for anyone who prefers to purchase their own print copy. Course Reserves also contain print copies of selected textbooks. Check at your library’s circulation desk for more information. Each of these texts can be accessed through the library catalog, the ebook portal and this e-textbooks database built specifically for this purpose.

We’re constantly upgrading and adding to our collection of these e-texts. For example, in 2020-2021, we spent about $10,000 to get new e-textbooks, and offered 184 e-textbooks overall. Each term we buy new e-textbooks to add to previously purchased e-textbooks. This means more e-textbooks overall.

To find out if your text is among those purchased by the library, simply search below by book title, your professor’s last name or your course code. If you encounter any problems with one of these course-adopted texts, please fill out an error report and someone will get back to you as soon as possible.
