White cotton fabric was dyed in a repeated ink-print design with a subtle yellow dye background. The print images are abstract faces of different sizes all having large eyes. The interaction of the faces creates a pleasant composition.

Nigeria, located on the west coast of Africa is the most populous nation in Africa. The three largest ethnic groups are the Hausa in the north, Igbo in the east and Yoruba in the southwest. Nigeria has a long and rich history of art. Indigenous sculpture served social and religious purposes. Music played a major role in communication with gods and spirits. Crafts and textiles, mostly with elaborate design and color were produced primarily for functional purposes. Following Festac “77” (Black and African Festival of Art in 1977} there has been a proliferation of contemporary and modern art throughout Nigeria.
