The western style black, red and natural purse with repeated lines and a diamond pattern is made entirely of leather. The purse has a natural leather drawstring with tassels on the ends of the drawstring. The small lines and the diamond shapes on the purse are interwoven strips of natural leather.

The Fulani and Hausa tribes have similar ethnic and cultural characteristics. Both tribes are prominent through the Niger River Basin of West Africa. The two tribal groups are sometimes viewed as one even though there are distinct differences. Both tribes are known for weaving, the production of leather products, musical instruments and jewelry.
