With about 10,000 different species inhabiting ecosystems across the globe, birds are one of the most diverse classes of animals on earth. Interact with interesting birds and study their anatomy to identify specific traits that differ from species to species. From beaks to feather patterns, investigate the advantages and obstacles of flight and other evolutionary characteristics of birds. This program includes live animals. North Carolina Essential Standards for Science: 6.L.2, 7.L.1, 8.L.3 Time: 30-45 minutes Fee: $60 base fee (up to 30 students per session), $2.00 per student for up to 10 additional students. Additional program sessions are recommended for groups of more than 30 students.
