Another eccentric club of the twenties was the Crammers. According to the 1924 Tecoan, their motto was “Fill Up,” and their slogan, “Pack up your cares in your old kit bag and cram, cram, cram.” Members included “Lady-Bird” Barnes, “Two-Bits” Skarren, “Bee” Abernathy, and “Icky” Jackson. The Crammers apparently ate and studied simultaneously. Other such clubs included the Roamers, the Wanderers, the Wee Gee, the Carolina Fun Makers, and the Western Gang.
