This composite photograph features twenty-two key faculty at East Carolina Teachers’Training School in 1920 centered around President Wright. The Eleventh Annual Catalogue for ECTTS, 1919-1920, included a fuller listing of some 47 faculty, revealing that there had been more than a quadrupling the 11 charter faculty. Significantly, the gender balance remained predominantly female, at 17 to 5, in this select group. Growth had yet to compromise the strong standing of women in teaching positions.
