Summary The durability of building components and materials is dependent, to a large extent, on the in-service environment to which they are subjected in service. Thus, the prediction of durability requires the knowledge of the service environment. Weathering factors, which comprise one group of environment factors, are the subject of this report. The objectives of this report are to indicate how, in the present state of knowledge, weather and climate data can be used to aid in quantifying weathering factors so that durability tests for building components and materials may be designed.
