Abstract Colonel Karl E. Faser discusses his career as a Marine Corps officer, especially World War II activities in the South Pacific. Commentaries concern New Zealand, Guadalcanal, New Gloucester, Russell Islands, Palalu, and training in Australia. Also included are reminiscences of duty in Korea (1950-1952), Japan, and stateside duty at Quantico and Camp Lejeune.
