General noteThe portrait, occupying the first page, is of John Wilkes, and is stated to be "engraved for Weatherwise's almanack, 1769." Pages [2-4] are occupied chiefly by an account entitled "Anecdotes of Mr. Wilkes." Page [5] is the title page.
General noteAll other issues, except the first, in the series of almanacs published at Providence first by William Goddard and continued by John Carter, are entitled: The New-England almanack, or lady's and gentleman's diary. The author through 1781 was Benjamin West.
