Abstract This report describes training programs and tools that health care providers, social workers, and facilities and their staff can use to provide better care for victims of domestic violence. Research funded by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) has: identified gaps in research on domestic violence, indicating a need to build a stronger evidence base for screening, detecting, and treating victims ; helped health care providers screen for and identify victims of domestic abuse ; created tools that help providers counsel and treat victims and developed a tool that evaluates the quality of domestic violence programs.
