Abstract A collection of short video segments showing folk music and dances from Central and South America. Includes folk music, folk songs, performances on traditional musical instruments, dances, and religious or ritual performances. The video segments contain no spoken introduction or explanation, but the accompanying guide contains: overview essays that discuss entire traditions; selection descriptions that present information about each cut; and resource material, including suggestions for listening, viewing, and reading. The quality of the recording varies from segment to segment.
