| Abstract | "In 1939, a murder happens in a remote farm house in rural Iowa. The Sheriff and other men on duty look for concrete evidence in order to convict the victim's wife. Quietly in the kitchen, two women solve the crime. Unspoken secrets weigh heavy on their decision to be loyal to their sex."--Description from IMDb.com. |
| General note | Based on the 1916 play "Trifles" and the 1917 short story "A jury of her peers," both by Susan Glaspell. These stories were, in turn, inspired by the 1900 murder of John Hossack, whose wife Margaret Hossack's conviction for the crime was later overturned. |
