The French original, Paris, 1756, has title: Mémoire contenant le précis des falts, avec leurs pieces justificatives, pour servir de résponse aux Observations envoyées par les ministres l'Angleterre, daus les cours de l'Europe. It includes documents captured from the British at Fort Necessliy and at Braddock's defeat.

General note"Letter from M. Robert Napier, written to M. Braddock, by order of His Royal Highness the Duke of Cumberland [dated November 25, 1754]": p. 188-194. It was this letter that called forth the ironical defence of the Duke of Cumberland, published, London, 1756, under title: Reasons humbly offered, to prove, that the letter printed at the end of the French Memorial of justification, is a French forgery and falsely ascribed to His.
