General noteThe letters of Massachusettensis, 17 in number and bearing dates Dec. 12, 1774-Apr. 3, 1775, first appeared in the "Massachusetts gazette and postboy". The first eight were reprinted in New York under title "The present political state of the province of Massachusetts bay", the present work being merely a reissue with added t.-p. At the bottom of p. 86 occurs the note "In the press, and speedily will be pub. a continuation of this work". So far as known this never appeared.
