500 a| This collection, divided into 28 "deelen", consists of 127 parts, each having special t.-p., separate pagination and register. The date of imprint varies: about two-thirds are dated 1706, one-third 1707, five have no date and one is dated 1708, as is also the "Noodig na-berigt" preceding the final "Register der zee- en land-reysen" in the 28th vol. The general title-pages are all dated 1707. The voyages covering the period from 1246 to 1696 are arranged chronologically. The printing of a folio edition containing these voyages arranged according to the nations, was begun simultaneously with this edition but suspended until the 8o edition had been completed. A projected collection of Dutch voyages never appeared. The voyage of the Dutch traveller J.J. de Roy to Borneo and Achin was probably printed before van der Aa decided to publish the series of Dutch travels separately. With various other voyages later excluded from the collection, it is quoted in the preliminary register, published in the 1st vol., but omitted in the final index. In some copies it is appended to the 3d, in others to the 28th vol., in this copy it is wanting. cf. Tiele, Nederlandsche bibliographie.;
