General noteBy resolution, approved June 18, 1836, the General court decided that the state should continue in possession of the Indian Stream territory in Coos County and maintain jurisdiction over it, pending settlement of the boundary dispute between the United States and Great Britain. The governor was authorized to appoint commissioners to collect evidence to combat charges made by the governor of Lower Canada against the authorities and citizens of the state.
