Abstract Moments that are caused by a payload assumed to be an inviscid liquid flowing in a coning projectile are predicted. This payload is contained in a uniform sequence of end-to-end cylinders stacked in columns along and off the symmetry axis of the projectile. A theoretical model is used to analyze inertial waves passing through the liquid, which are generated by the coning motion. This analysis continues by considering a single column along the projectile symmetry axis, which is filled with an inviscid fluid saturating porous media. Eigen frequencies and their impact on liquid moments are discussed concerning the flight stability of the projectile for a wide range of payload configurations and porosities when the projectile is subjected to various coning frequencies.
