Proceedings of the public meeting on behalf of the shopkeepers' assistants : convened by the mayor, and held in the Sessions House, on Thursday, the 22nd April, 1841, for the purpose of inquiring into the complaints of the assistants and clerks in the employment of retail traders, and in case such complaints appear reasonable to consider and determine on any recommendation to the public and the employers for a curtailment of the hours of labour.
