Abstract This book is a collection of 12 manuscripts from the author's laboratory having to do with the behavior of the respiratory apparatus in the generation of speech and song. Many of these manuscripts have been published previously as articles in scholarly journals or as chapters in books, but they have been edited heavily for this book to provide for consistency in style and terminology.
