The history of the life and acts of the Most Reverend Father in God, Edmund Grindal, the first Bishop of London, and the second Archbishop of York and Canterbury successively, in the reign of Q. Elizabeth : Wherein is shewed, that Most Reverend Prelate's pious and useful labours, both in the reformation and government of the Church of England, while he presided over it, and how well he merited of it. In the course of this history will appear also the state of this church; the succession of divers of its bishops; its struggles with the adversaries; matters transacted in ecclesiastical commissions, synods, and visitations; correspondence with the churches abroad; indulgence and regard of the churches of foreigners planted here; and many other particular affairs relating to religion; happening in the time of this Archbishop.
