Variant title Counseling a child with ADHD : assessment and interventions
SeriesCounseling and therapy in video, volume 3
Abstract In this treatment series, Dr. Keith Sutton works with a mother and child assessing for ADHD in both the child and parent, and providing Attachment Based-Cognitive Behavioral Systemic Therapy. He does an ADHD assessment, provides Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for the mother's ADHD, depression, and anxiety, and works with the parent and child on restructuring the relationship for a secure attachment. The son's symptoms are also assessed and the diagnosis is inconclusive, so a treatment plan is worked on to increase parental functioning, while continuing to assess the child's symptoms and begin interventions.
