Abstract This book is an attempt to bring together in one place, information about the clarinet concerning its acoustical nature as a sound producing tool for the raw material of music, and the mechanics of exploiting this sound production by the clarinetist as a means for realizing the philosophy involved in the art of music performance. This book is not a method book, nor an instruction book. It is hoped that this book will provide a depth of perspective and understanding by the clarinetist which will lead to a greater appreciation and enjoyment of their art.
