Summary Annotation Proceedings of the October 1995 symposium, in two volumes. Most of the papers are in one of three distinct areas: detailed analyses of recent data on bursts; searches for burst counterparts; and descriptions of new observational initiatives in the field. (According to the preface, this conference differed from previous ones in that theoretical models and interpretations were sparse compared to the above categories; theoretists were less certain of their models and defended them less intensely.) Discussion includes data from the Third BATSE Gamma-Ray Burst catalog that was released two months before the conference, a new analysis reporting evidence for redshift in the spectral continua of gamma-ray bursts consistent with that expected with cosmological distances for bursts, and high-velocity neutron stars which populate an extended galactic halo and their possible relation to observed isotopy of bursts.
