IEEE Workshop on Content-Based Access of Image and Video Libraries Proceedings, June 22, 1999, Fort Collins, Colorado: In Conjunction with IEEE CVPR'99

Summary Annotation The goal is to allow people to find in an electronic image library something that is similar to what they are looking at, in order to help with such tasks as diagnosing diseases, finding oil, measure crop yields, and identify environmental problems. Six of the 22 papers present new methods of image analysis and low-level feature extraction for color, texture, and shape features; another five address the problems of deriving higher level understanding of the visual information my analyzing the visual features; six more describe techniques for improving retrieval results in libraries of images and video; and several survey specific applications in medical imagery, video, and graphical presentation material.
