His comments position each piece in the literature and provide information on its performance. An English translation accompanies the texts, which appear in full. The University of Missouri Press has issued an accompanying recording of the contents of the book as performed by the Collegium Musicum of the University of Missouri under Professor Minor's direction and using reproductions of the instruments of the time.;
