Scope and content This collection documents the life of Robert Lee Humber, Jr., (May 30, 1898-Nov. 10, 1970). These extensive files donated from the estate of his son John L. Humber cover all of his life's work and consist of correspondence, speeches, resolutions, minutes, bylaws, reports, and publications.

Biographical noteRobert Lee Humber, Jr. (1898-1970) was an attorney, businessman, politician, and activist in North Carolina. He was well-known nationally and internationally for his Movement for World Federation, he was instrumental in the founding North Carolina Museum, and he lead an effort to create a community college in Pitt County, North Carolina.
