Summary Description: Eighteenth-century copy of a manuscript dated 1561. The volume first covers encounters in Maluku between the Spanish, led by Ruy Lo?pez de Villalobos (who was sent from Mexico in 1542 to assert Spanish claims in the islands), the Portuguese, the king of Halmahera (with whom the Portuguese were at war), and the king of Tidore. The second part of the volume discusses the islands' population, and its geography. Includes a number of Drawings & Artworks at the end of the volume.
