| Summary | There has been a shift in the politics in America with many voters moving into a post-truth society. Where debates, laws and policies are framed by appealing to emotions, rather than facts. This political movement, also known as the alt-right slowly emerged within the '90s but then exploded into the mainstream in 2017 with a deadly rally in Charlottesville, Virginia. Using the fictional animal, the critter, and while assuming the role of an anthropologist in the North Carolina region of the U.S., I am examining the birth and resulting consequences of this highly tribal political ideology. |
