| Abstract | Lambeau, subst. masc. 1. Piece of cloth, paper, soft material, torn or torn off, detached at all or partly attached to it. 2. By analogy: a piece of flesh or skin torn away voluntarily or accidentally. Bloody flap; shreds of flesh and blood. Juan, desperate, bit him on the cheek, tore a shred of flesh that exposed his jaw (Borel, Champavert, 1833, 55). 3. Surgery: segment of soft parts preserved during the amputation of a limb to cover the bony parts and obtain a flexible scar.
