Abstract Stranded at a railway station after the last train has gone, a young woman’s fears and fantasies of what could happen in such a situation become an alternative reality. Shot on location with the Lucerne Ballet, the cinematic realism of this dance film is arresting and unsettling. Richard Wherlock’s choreography evolves from the patterns of ordinary, everyday movement in response to music from Mark-Anthony Turnage’s Blood on the Floor. The conjunction of dance, music and visual images is potent.
