The ballet’s triumph was also due to the fabulous set and costume designs of Léon Bakst. This Kirov staging recreates Bakst’s designs. Svetlana Zakharova dances the title role, with Farukh Ruzimatov as the slave lover she risks all for. This live recording was made at the Théâtre du Châtelet, Paris.;
