Abstract STEM Career Role Models are practising scientists and engineers who offer their specialist knowledge and expertise to schools. Keen to excite students about science, technology, engineering and maths, they aim to show students where the STEM subjects could take them in the future.Spacecraft engineer Faye Cashman takes her million pound Mars rover, Bridget, to show the Year 9s at Cowplain School, near Portsmouth. The students get to see Bridget in action and find out more about how they can follow in Faye's footsteps.Faye then sets the students a challenge to see if they have what it takes to be spacecraft engineers. To land a Mars rover safely on another planet they ll have to build a landing craft capable of doing the same. Only their precious payload will be an egg.The programme also features a profile of Faye in which she gives a guided tour of her workplace and an insight into what it's like to work in the space industry.
