As many readers are aware, Shell suspended operations in Alaska for the foreseeable future in late 2015 after disappointing results from the Burger J well. With this suspension came the scattering of personnel, local geologic experience, and data. When (or if) another lease sale will be held in the Chukchi Sea remains uncertain. Thus, it is in the spirit of knowledge preservation in the midst of an uncertain future that we present this Memoir that represents a current snapshot of Shell's overall geologic interpretation of the area.;
