Summary Within the past 35 years, Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP-II) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems have gained popularity in the manufacturing industry. As businesses continue to seek ways to improve their overall productivity and profits, the popularity of these computer systems to support manufacturing applications has sparked interests of management in numerous small business enterprises. However, very little data has been reported on how successful these types of manufacturing sofrware systems are currently used by today's small enterprises. The purpose of this study was to evaluate, design, and implement an MRP-type computerized system at Pressure Systems, Inc. (PSI) located at Los Angeles, California.
