Summary Annotation Poetry. Poet Hannah Weiner died in 1997 having written some of the most challenging, experimental, and compelling poetry of her generation. Born in Providence, Rhode Island in 1928, she died in Manhattan. PAGE, completed in 1990, is the first posthumous publication of her work. Although Weiner sent a version of the completed manuscript for PAGE to editor Charles Bernstein in 1990, the book is based on a manuscript left in her papers.
