A. degree from Governor's State College in Chicago; and his M. B. A. degree from Loyola University in Chicago in 1980. He was hired at publishing giant R.R. Donnelley, where he remained for thirty-eight years. He resigned in 1980 as president of Donnelley Print Solutions. His next position was president and CEO of Océ-USA Holding, Incorporated. Daly was the first American to run Océ's North American operations, and the first American to sit on the board of directors of the Netherlands-based company. Daly was also active in community service. He was a member of the board of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and many other organizations.;
