In 1993 a US Army-commissioned study that seven men had been denied the Army's highest award due to racial discrimination. Child tells the stories of these seven African American soldiers, who in 1997 were finally awarded Medals of Honor for their service, based on the work of a research team at Shaw University in North Carolina. - adapted from jacket |
