General noteUpon a German abridged edition previously pub. by Wilkein Schütz, Leipzig, F.A. Brocklaus, 1822-24 is based the French edition with title: Mémoires du Vénétien J. Casanova de Seingalt, extraits de ses manuscrits orignaux, publiés en Allemagne, par G. de Schütz. Paris, 1825-29, 14 vol. (v. 8 to 14 have title. Mémoires [etc.] pub. en Allemagne et traduits par M.
