Abstract This book is a response to the need for pedagogical materials in the education of professionals who will provide activity programs and interventions to older adults in a variety of service settings. The authors, through their experience in providing basic college instruction in this area, have found no single source that can effectively meet their needs in the classroom or in the field. Thus, [they] hope that college students as well as activity specialists who work in senior centers, adult daycare, skilled nursing facilities, and in rehabilitation centers that serve older adults, will find this text to be a helpful resource. -Pref.
