Abstract Baritone singer Titta Ruffo was famous and appreciated all over the world for his prodigious vocal and interpretative skills, but few today know his stature as an artist. This volume collects his memoirs of childhood until June 1924 when on tour in Bogota, he received the very serious news of the kidnapping of his brother-in-law, the socialist deputy Giacomo Matteotti. In his simple style, he retraces all the happy and painful events of his life, from the hard beginnings to the peaks of glory, without embellishment or literary ambitions, driven by sincerity and passion.
