Scope and content "Contemplation" (1938/39) is the first of those four treatises which, following the "Contributions to Philosophy (On the Event)", take on the task of examining the area of thinking in the history of being, which is the first in the "Contributions to Philosophy". Designed as a six-fold elevation, it should be opened as a whole in a questioning manner. Thinking about the history of being, which sees itself as reflection, opens up the light of being as an event in which the encounter between God and man intersects with the conflict between the earth and the world. Contemplation takes place as the questioning of the historical question of being in the confrontation with the metaphysical question of being. Because "Contemplation" not only, like other writings, highlights individual questions from the whole of event thinking. In the "Appendix" a "Review of the Path" written in 1937/38 is also printed for the first time from the estate.[Publisher's synopsis].
