| Abstract | Just as music helps soothe infants to sleep, organize the play of children, synchronize dance motions of adolescents and adults, and enhance the worship of deities in all societies, it remains an extremely functional part of the lives of elderly adults. The author has discussed and demonstrated in the following pages the wisdom of keeping the unique experience of music as an important resource for assisting all persons to know the full joy of the entire human life cycle. She has taken annual events that are familiar to every citizen and drawn from them those elements which are regularly experienced through music. The resulting activities are described clearly and are discussed in relation to the events from which they are drawn. Also included are ideas for music involvement that are independent of annual events and may be used anytime throughout the year. |
