| Abstract | Book one (beginners) contains simplified fingering charts which are readily understood by the beginner. The basic treatment of time valuations as well as tone production are invaluable towards developing the student for orchestra work within the shortest possible time. The new system of throat control contained in this book will lessen the problem of intonation. The latter lessons are devoted exclusively to dance music as well as vibrato control, lip slurs, etc. Book two (advanced) is for the development of rapid finger technique. The necessary studies of scales, intervals and chords are presented in such a manner that the subject of simplified fingerings are readily understood. The rapid studies in all key signatures impart to the advanced student an ease of technique for any form of composition. The subjects of sight-reading and finger position are thoroughly discussed. The final technical studies in this book are highly recommended for the development of speed and intonation. Book three (professional) covers subjects not typically discussed in the average music book. The different rules as applied to alto and tenor saxophone are clearly stated. Several lessons are devoted to a new and easy system of rapid tongueing. For those professionals that are worried about intonation, this book will end their problems. The subject of tone and vibrato control is set forth in a plain and understandable manner. The collection of daily studies at the end of this book will in itself 'keep you up on your instrument.' |
