Abstract "In materials science, MXenes are a class of two-dimensional inorganic compounds. These materials consist of a-few-atoms-thick layers of transition metal carbides, nitrides, or carbonitrides. First described in 2011, MXenes combine the metallic conductivity of transition metal carbides with a hydrophilic nature. The discovery of graphene initiated a wave of research in two-dimensional (2D) materials due to its excellent properties such as high mobility, high conductivity and high mechanical strength and long spin diffusion length for spintronics devices. MXene, as a new family of 2D materials, has attracted increasing attention and has been applied for various applications."-- Provided by publisher.
