Abstract This book, scripted partly in the form of a diary, relates the unusual friendship between two trombonists from diverse musical backgrounds. The author met Douglas Yeo, bass trombonist of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, through mutual membership of the International Trombone Association. After a dozen years of correspondence the pinnacle of their relationship was reached when Douglas Yeo recorded an album of all bass trombone solos accompanied by the world famous Black Dyke Mills Band. This book reveals, in compelling detail how this recording was made. Chronicling three years of planning and negotiation this book brings vividly to life the trials and tribulations encountered in every stage in the production process.
