| General note | Testimonial to the orthodoxy and good character of Adams, and an account of the reasons for his seeking dismissal. It was endorsed by twenty church members and fifteen others, whose names are not printed "in tenderness to that church under it's present resettling circumstances." Adams had the approval of a majority of church members, but some of the chief taxpayers refused to support him. |
