General noteBy Osgood Carleton. The calculations for the sun, moon, and tides on the calendar pages are identical with those in Carleton's Almanack for 1797 (Boston: S. Hall), with the exception of the tide times for May through December. The calculations in the eclipse predictions are also identical. Most of the astronomical notes on the calendar pages correspond to those in Carleton's almanac, except that the latter has more of them and with frequent slight differences in the calculations here. The weather predictions on the same pages are generally parallel. Evans attributed the almanac, as he did most of those issued under the Bickerstaff pseudonym, to Benjamin West.
General noteIdentical in content and typography (except for the title page and the literary extracts on p. [18-19]) with Weatherwise's almanack for 1797 (Boston: same imprint).
General noteSignatures: A-B⁶.
