We the subscribers, owners and possessors of wharfs in this city, having considered the great cost, charge and expence of erecting, building and keeping the same in repair, for the ease, benefit and advantage of vessels ... : have agreed, and we do hereby each for himself agree, that from and after the first day of March next, the following rates for wharfage at all and every of our wharfs, shall be paid ... In testimony of our concurrence and agreement, that the above rates and regulations shall be absolutely kept and observed on our parts, we have hereunto subscribed our names, this seventh day of February, one thousand seven hundred and sixty two.
