| Biographical note | L. Richardson Preyer, a native of Greensboro, N.C, represented North Carolina's Sixth Congressional District from 1968 to 1980. He served as a city judge (1953-1954), North Carolina state superior court judge (1956-1961), United States District Court Judge (1961-1963), and was an unsuccessful candidate for Governor of North Carolina in 1964. |
