Biographical noteRichard Elon Warner grew up in Piedmont, a residential town in the San Francisco Bay Area. In the final days of World War II, Warner was promoted to be commanding officer of destroyer escort U.S.S. George (DE-697). He passed away 8 February 2005 at his home in Lodi, California.
